Audi India aims to more than double its share of the country’s luxury passenger vehicle market over the next three to five years, supported by new vehicle launches, an expanded dealership network and a stronger focus on customers. The German luxury carmaker held around 7.5% of the market at the end of 2025, when it sold 4,510 vehicles, down 14% from 5,249 units in 2024.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director of Audi India, said the company aims to raise its market share to more than 15% over the next three to five years. The plan comes as Audi seeks to regain ground against rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz in India’s growing luxury car segment.
New Models to Drive Growth
Audi has begun its product push with the launch of the latest-generation Q3 SUV in India. Locally assembled at the Škoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, the Q3 has been introduced at an ex-showroom price of ₹51.99 lakh. The model competes with vehicles such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The company is also preparing to introduce the Audi A5 sedan and the Q9 flagship SUV in India. These launches are expected to expand its portfolio and address demand across different segments of the luxury market. Audi has indicated that further product introductions are planned.
Dealership Network to Expand
Network expansion is another key part of Audi India’s strategy. The company currently operates 28 showrooms and aims to increase the number to around 50 by the end of 2030. A wider retail presence is expected to improve customer access and support sales growth across more markets.
Audi is also emphasising customer retention and service as part of its growth plan. The company expects new products and a stronger retail network to help it return to growth as its updated portfolio reaches the market.
Luxury Car Market Continues to Grow
India’s luxury passenger vehicle market recorded sales of approximately 52,000 units in 2025. The market is projected to expand in 2026, providing an opportunity for automakers to attract new buyers as premium vehicle demand increases.
Audi’s market share target comes after several years of declining sales, with an ageing product range and intense competition cited among the challenges. Its ability to achieve the target will depend on the performance of upcoming models, expansion of its dealership network and the pace of growth in India’s luxury car market.
