Being the first automaker in India to accomplish the goal, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, the EV division of Tata Motors, rolled out its 50,000th electric vehicle—a Nexon EV—from its factory in Pune, Maharashtra. The market leader in EVs, which joined the market in 2020, is currently concentrating on a three-phased architecture strategy for EVs and aims to introduce 10 such vehicles in that time.

N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Motors, said in a video speech that when the company started working on an EV in 2018, it seemed like a “dream project.”

Four years later, it has made significant progress, which was made possible by the core team’s conviction and the collaboration of the numerous Tata Group entities

The Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime, and Nexon EV Max are among Tata Motors’ current line-up of electric vehicles.

Tata Motors said in a statement that the business achieved this achievement ahead of its March 2023 target because of favourable policy conditions, excellent word-of-mouth from current customers, practical product options, improved ride and handling, and affordable cost of ownership.
