The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to launch its much-awaited Lakshadweep and Hyderabad tour packages on September 22. The corporation will also introduce new online booking and waiting-list facilities for its Budget Tourism Cell.

Transport Minister C P John will inaugurate the initiatives at a function in Thiruvananthapuram, according to a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16.
As part of the event, the minister will felicitate 10 travellers selected for the first Lakshadweep tour. Awards will also be presented to employees and units that recorded the best state-level performance during July and August.
Online booking and waiting list
Under the new software system, travellers will be able to book KSRTC tourism packages online. The corporation will also introduce a waiting-list facility similar to the system used by the Indian Railways, making it easier for travellers to track their bookings.
Hyderabad tour packages
KSRTC has announced two Hyderabad tour packages, offering trips of three days and two nights and two days and one night.
The packages include accommodation, food and entry fees to tourist attractions, allowing travellers to cover the major destinations as part of a single package.
Lakshadweep package
The Lakshadweep tour will begin with a flight from Kochi and cover Agatti and Kalpitty islands. The package is planned as a budget-friendly four-day, three-night trip.
Travellers can choose between homestay and resort accommodation. The package includes the Lakshadweep entry permit, airport transfers, twin-sharing accommodation, food, Wi-Fi and insurance.
