Adani Vizhinjam International Seaport has achieved another major operational milestone by handling a record 10,545 TEU exchanges on the container vessel MSC IRENE, marking one of the highest single-vessel container exchange operations in the port’s history.

The achievement highlights the port’s advanced automation, deep-water infrastructure and operational efficiency, enabling it to handle ultra-large container vessels with faster turnaround times and greater reliability. Strategically located near the East-West international shipping corridor, Vizhinjam continues to strengthen its position as India’s leading deep-water transshipment hub.
The record-breaking operation further reinforces Vizhinjam’s growing importance in global maritime trade and supports India’s ambition to become a major logistics and transshipment hub. The milestone also reflects the port’s expanding capability to accommodate some of the world’s largest container ships while improving supply chain efficiency and international connectivity.
