Fresh details have surfaced in the death of Confident Group Chairman C.J. Roy, who died by suicide in Bengaluru earlier this week. A handwritten death note left behind by Roy has now been accessed exclusively, offering investigators critical insight into the events and concerns that preceded his death.

Police officials say the note has become a central piece of evidence in the ongoing probe being conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The document is currently under detailed examination as authorities attempt to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to sources familiar with the contents, Roy began the note with an apology to his family, describing his decision as an “extreme step” and seeking forgiveness from his loved ones. While the note reflects deep emotional strain, it is also said to be methodical and detailed, outlining instructions related to both his personal life and business affairs.
Roy reportedly listed specific financial information, including amounts owed to him, and provided clarity on how his business interests should be managed after his death. He named individuals to take charge of operations and explained how responsibilities should be distributed going forward.
The note also contains a strong appeal not to marginalise long-serving members of the Confident Group. Roy described these individuals as loyal and dependable, urging that they continue to play an active role in the organisation.
As part of the investigation, the SIT has begun recording statements from Roy’s wife and children. Officials believe these testimonies will help verify the financial references and business instructions mentioned in the note.
Sources further indicated that Roy had previously discussed financial matters extensively with his wife, particularly regarding payments made to others. He had also spoken about this in a recent YouTube interview, stating that his wife was aware of many aspects of his financial dealings and business operations.
In light of this, investigators are expected to question Roy’s wife in greater depth once funeral rites are completed, as she is believed to have detailed knowledge of his financial records and internal business matters.
The investigation remains underway, with authorities relying heavily on the death note to piece together the sequence of events and motivations leading up to Roy’s death.
