UAE President Begins Official India Visit

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in India on January 19 for an official visit, marking another milestone in the rapidly expanding India–UAE strategic partnership. The visit reflects the growing depth of bilateral ties across trade, investment, defence, energy and people-to-people engagement.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior Indian leaders, focusing on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as energy security, renewable energy, infrastructure development, fintech, defence collaboration and regional stability. The two sides are also expected to review progress under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has significantly boosted bilateral trade.

India and the UAE share close economic ties, with the Gulf nation being one of India’s largest trading partners and a major source of foreign investment. The visit is also expected to explore new avenues for collaboration in emerging technologies, climate action and sustainable development.The UAE President’s visit underscores the importance both countries place on their long-term strategic relationship, which has gained momentum in recent years through frequent high-level exchanges and expanding cooperation across sectors.
