Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to Siddharth Jain, an Indian businessman who took delivery of his brand-new Tesla Model Y in Mumbai on Tuesday. Jain, Executive Director of Inox Group, became the first person in India to buy a Tesla following the automaker’s launch in the country in July 2025.

Jain Shares His Milestone on Social Media
Jain posted a photo with his Tesla on X, tagging Elon Musk and writing, “This one’s for you @ElonMusk!!! I am beyond thrilled to receive India Inc’s 1st Tesla.” He shared that he had been dreaming of owning a Tesla since visiting the company’s Fremont, California factory in 2017, adding, “Dreams do come true.”
Elon Musk Responds
Musk replied to Jain with a simple one-word message: “Congrats.” Despite its brevity, the reply quickly went viral on X, accumulating nearly 5 million views within hours. Fans and followers reacted with excitement, asking about Tesla’s progress in India and suggesting the establishment of a local factory to make the cars more accessible.
Tesla’s Early Performance in India
Since launching sales in India, Tesla has received just over 600 orders, according to Bloomberg News, falling short of the company’s expectations. The milestone delivery to Jain marks the beginning of Tesla’s presence in the Indian market, generating significant public interest and online buzz.
