Anant Ambani, youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has been appointed as Executive Director of RIL. As part of his new role, Anant will receive an annual salary ranging between ₹10 crore and ₹20 crore, in addition to profit-based commissions and a range of executive perks.
Comprehensive Executive Package
According to a recent postal ballot notice sent to shareholders, Anant Ambani’s remuneration includes a structured salary along with various perquisites. These include a fully furnished residence or a house rent allowance, utility bill allowances (gas, electricity, water), leave travel concessions for himself and his family, reimbursements for travel and accommodation (including for spouse and attendants), company-provided vehicles, communication and medical expense reimbursements, and security arrangements for him and his family.

Key Role in Succession Planning
The appointment is part of Reliance’s larger succession strategy. In 2023, Anant, along with his siblings Akash and Isha, joined the RIL board as non-executive directors. At that time, they earned ₹4 lakh as a sitting fee and ₹97 lakh as commission for the fiscal year 2023–24, without a fixed salary.
Focus on Energy and New Projects
Anant Ambani is now the first among the siblings to move into an executive position. His portfolio centers on Reliance’s energy operations, including oil refining and the fast-expanding new energy and renewable sectors. The company noted that Anant has been associated with the group since 2015 and has gained hands-on experience in crude sourcing, refinery operations, and product trading across the oil-to-chemical (O2C) business.
Involvement in Project Execution
Anant is currently overseeing capital project execution at Reliance and plays a critical role in the planning and management of O2C projects, including initiatives in the vinyl and speciality polyester sectors. He is also actively engaged in the company’s ambitious New Energy Gigafactories.
Educational Background and Philanthropy
A graduate of Brown University, Anant Ambani serves on the boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. He is also actively involved with the Reliance Foundation and leads the Vantara initiative, which focuses on the rescue and conservation of wildlife.Reliance’s Statement on Appointment
