India-based PG Foils Limited is planning to establish a high-value aluminium foil manufacturing facility in Bahrain, marking a new step in its international expansion. The proposed plant will manufacture specialised aluminium foil for electric vehicle (EV) batteries and pharmaceutical applications.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce signed a letter of intent with PG Foils on November 1, 2026, during the fourth edition of the Gateway Gulf investment forum in Manama. The agreement was signed by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro and PG Foils Joint Managing Director Sahil Shah.
The event was hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board under the theme ‘Reimagining Global Partnerships, Powering Sustainable Growth’.
Focus on High-Value Aluminium Products
The proposed facility will focus on two specialised product segments: aluminium foil used in EV battery manufacturing and pharmaceutical-grade foil used in medicine packaging.
Demand for these materials is linked to the expansion of electric mobility and the pharmaceutical packaging industry. The project is expected to add high-value downstream aluminium manufacturing capabilities to Bahrain’s industrial ecosystem.
Bahrain Attracts Indian Investment
The agreement forms part of Bahrain’s efforts to attract international manufacturers and diversify its industrial base. The country is seeking to expand downstream aluminium activities and strengthen its position as a manufacturing and investment destination.
For PG Foils, the proposed facility offers an opportunity to expand its manufacturing footprint beyond India and participate in growing regional demand for specialised aluminium products.
Project Details Yet to Be Announced
The letter of intent establishes the framework for the proposed project. However, details such as the investment amount, production capacity, construction schedule and expected operational date have not yet been disclosed.
The development highlights growing business cooperation between India and Bahrain, particularly in advanced manufacturing and industrial materials.
