Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Germany and the Netherlands from October 22 to 27, 2026, to strengthen trade and investment ties and explore new opportunities for industrial and technological cooperation. Around 100 Indian businesses and startups will accompany him during the visit.

The Germany leg, scheduled for October 22–24, will include Goyal’s participation in the Berlin Global Dialogue, where he will engage with international policymakers and business leaders. He is also expected to meet German officials to discuss bilateral trade, investment, advanced engineering, green mobility and clean technology.
The discussions will also explore market access and investment opportunities linked to the ongoing India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
Business Delegation to Explore Investment Opportunities
The Indian business delegation will participate in sectoral roundtables with German industry leaders, covering automotive, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, information technology, artificial intelligence, services, agri-food, textiles, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
An India-Germany Investment Roundtable, organised with Germany Trade & Invest, will explore opportunities for Indian companies to invest and establish operations in Germany. The delegation will also engage with German research institutions and innovation organisations on deep technology, microelectronics, industrial transformation and skills development.
Netherlands Visit to Focus on Trade and Logistics
Goyal will visit the Netherlands from October 24 to 27 for meetings with Dutch ministers and other officials. The discussions will focus on expanding trade channels, strengthening industrial cooperation and advancing green transition initiatives.
The Indian business delegation is scheduled to visit the Port of Rotterdam on October 25 to examine its logistics and supply chain infrastructure. On October 26, Goyal will address the India-Netherlands Business Forum in The Hague alongside the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
The forum will include sectoral roundtables and business-to-business networking sessions covering food processing, high technology, renewable energy, logistics, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, engineering goods and services.
Strengthening India’s Economic Ties with Europe
The visit comes as India continues to explore stronger economic partnerships with European countries and new opportunities arising from India-EU FTA negotiations. The focus on manufacturing, AI, clean technology and logistics is intended to create opportunities for businesses, expand investment links and strengthen supply chains.
The outcomes will depend on discussions with government and industry representatives, as well as follow-up agreements and investment decisions by participating companies.
