Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has made a strong start at the box office, crossing ₹90 crore in domestic net collections within its first two days, according to box-office reports. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel released in theatres on October 15, 2026, and continued to draw audiences on Saturday.

The film features Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and includes appearances by actors such as Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan and Vidya Balan. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has seen its daily collections slow after a strong first two weeks. The thriller earned ₹3 crore in India net collections on its 15th day, taking its total domestic net collection to approximately ₹336 crore, according to Sacnilk estimates. Its worldwide gross collection reached ₹520.15 crore.
The release of Jailer 2 has added competition at cinemas, with the Rajinikanth film drawing attention during the festive period. However, box-office figures are estimates and may vary across tracking sources.
The two films highlight the continuing importance of star-led theatrical releases in India’s cinema market, where opening-weekend performance, audience turnout and competition from new releases can influence a film’s daily collections.
