Raymond Ltd’s subsidiary JK Maini Global Aerospace Ltd has secured a tender from a leading Indian aerospace and defence OEM to assemble wing and centre fuselage structures for a major indigenous fighter aircraft programme.

The contract marks Raymond’s entry into the aircraft structures segment and expands the company’s aerospace business beyond precision manufacturing into more complex aircraft assembly work.
New Aircraft Assembly Capability
Under the programme, JK Maini Global Aerospace will handle the assembly of wing structures and centre fuselage structures for an indigenous fighter aircraft. The move will help the company build capabilities in higher-value aircraft structures and strengthen its position in the aerospace sector.
The project will also use existing infrastructure available at the customer’s facility. This allows Raymond to develop the required capabilities while keeping the investment relatively capital-efficient.
Opportunity for Future Aerospace Projects
Raymond said the contract is strategically important beyond its immediate business value. The experience gained from the programme is expected to help the company build execution capabilities and credentials that could support its subsidiaries in pursuing larger aerospace programmes in India and international markets.
Rakesh Tiwary, Group CFO of Raymond Group, said the opportunity gives the company an entry into the high-value aircraft structures segment while maintaining a capital-efficient model.
He said the focus will be on strong execution and developing the new capability into a scalable growth platform for future aerospace opportunities.
