The Sannitha Social Inclusion Lab has been inaugurated at Panampatta New UP School in Malur, Kannur, with the aim of developing empathy and social responsibility among students.
The lab uses modern additive manufacturing technology to help students identify the needs of people around them, turn those needs into ideas and develop practical tools and solutions.
Students will be encouraged to use technology to create assistive devices for people with disabilities and the elderly. The initiative aims to make social inclusion a practical learning experience rather than limiting it to classroom lessons.
Kannur District Collector P. Vishnuraj IAS inaugurated the lab. He said such initiatives can help develop social responsibility and compassion among students from a young age.
MLA V.K. Sanoj said the initiative can support marginalised communities and students with disabilities while creating a new model for inclusive education.
Sannitha Social Inclusion Lab founder Robin Tomy said the project encourages students to identify problems, design solutions and build useful devices using modern technology.
