Upasana Kamineni Konidela is set to take over as Director – Projects at Apollo Hospitals as the healthcare group moves ahead with an estimated ₹8,600-crore expansion programme across India.
In her new role, Upasana will work with Apollo’s leadership, clinical teams and project partners on the planning and delivery of hospital projects. Her responsibilities will include new facilities, expansions and upgrades to existing hospitals, along with maintaining consistent design standards across patient spaces.
Apollo’s expansion plan includes approximately ₹1,565 crore for listed brownfield expansion projects. The wider programme covers established markets and growing urban centres, including Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati and Ranchi.
Upasana, who is currently associated with Apollo’s CSR initiatives, will also focus on patient-friendly hospital design, including clearer signage, easier navigation and efficient clinical spaces.
The appointment comes as Apollo expands its healthcare infrastructure across multiple cities, with the group aiming to increase capacity while upgrading existing facilities.
