The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has issued its first compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus under AIS-119 and AIS-153 standards in line with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR).

The certificate has been awarded to Neemrana-based Synaty Automotive Pvt Ltd for its 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus configuration.
The certification marks an important step in the testing and approval of one of the longest permitted bus body configurations in India’s passenger transport segment. ICAT Director Saurabh Dalela formally presented the certificate to Synaty Automotive Managing Director Naresh Kumar Yadav at ICAT’s Manesar facility in Haryana, in the presence of senior officials.
The bus has been developed for long-distance passenger travel, with a focus on structural strength, emergency and fire safety, passenger movement and overall travel comfort.
The fully sleeper version can accommodate 42 berths, while the hybrid configuration offers 21 berths along with 42 seats.
The certification confirms that the bus has undergone testing for requirements covering vehicle safety, structural integrity, passenger accommodation and comfort under the applicable automotive standards and CMVR provisions.
AIS-153 became mandatory from September 2025 and sets additional requirements for bus construction, including passenger safety, structural integrity, ergonomics and accessibility. AIS-119 specifically covers requirements for sleeper coaches.
Synaty Automotive had earlier become the first bus body builder in North India to receive AIS-153 certification from ICAT for sleeper buses in February 2026.
The Neemrana-based company currently manufactures around 50 to 60 buses every month and supplies vehicles to operators such as FlixBus and Ram Dayal Travels. The certification further highlights Synaty Automotive’s growing presence in India’s long-distance passenger transport market.
