Former ISRO Chairman S. Somanath has been appointed as a member of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), according to a Deccan Herald report.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra has also been reappointed to the RBI’s Central Board.
Somanath, who served as ISRO chairman and Secretary of the Department of Space, brings extensive experience in India’s space and technology sectors. His appointment adds significant expertise to the RBI’s advisory and policy framework.
Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, will continue his association with the central bank’s board following his reappointment.
The appointments bring together expertise from India’s space, technology and business sectors at the RBI’s Central Board.
