A new Qatar India remittance service powered by UPI is now available, allowing customers in Qatar to transfer money directly to UPI-enabled bank accounts in India through Qatar Post outlets.

The service is designed to make cross-border money transfers faster, safer and more convenient, particularly for the large Indian community living in Qatar and their families back home.
Qatar Post Enables Direct Transfers To India
Under the new service, customers can visit Qatar Post outlets to send funds to eligible UPI-enabled bank accounts in India. The initiative combines Qatar’s postal network with India’s digital payment infrastructure to create a simpler channel for international remittances.
The Communications Ministry said the service provides an instant and secure option for sending money across borders while improving accessibility for customers.
Qatar Post And India Post Join Hands
The remittance service has been developed through a partnership involving Qatar Post, India Post, the Universal Postal Union’s Interconnection Platform (UPU-IP) and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL).
The collaboration brings together postal networks and India’s digital public infrastructure to improve international financial connectivity.
More UPI Remittance Corridors Planned
India Post is also working with postal operators in other countries to introduce additional PosTransfer corridors powered by UPI.
The planned expansion is expected to strengthen cross-border payment connectivity and provide more convenient remittance options for Indians living and working abroad.
The Qatar corridor marks another step towards expanding the global reach of India’s UPI-based digital payment ecosystem.
