Renu Dhariyal from Uttarakhand has made it into the Guinness World Records for having the longest hair on a living person (female), with her hair measuring an astonishing 271.50 cm (8 ft 10 in).

Her record was verified in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, and surpasses the previous record of 257.33 cm held by Ukraine’s Aliia Nasyrova.
Dhariyal says she has been growing her hair continuously since 2015 and has never cut it. Inspired by India’s cultural association with long hair, she has maintained her remarkable locks for more than a decade.
Maintaining hair of this length requires considerable patience. Dhariyal spends hours washing and detangling it and often keeps it in an elaborate braid to prevent it from touching the ground.
A content creator and YouTuber, she also shares beauty and hair-care tips with women. Her record-breaking achievement has now earned her global recognition.
