PVR INOX is expanding into India’s smaller towns with the launch of Smart Cinemas, a new affordable cinema format aimed at Tier-III markets. The company plans to open 300 Smart Cinemas over the next three years, with ticket prices ranging from ₹150 to ₹175, making the multiplex experience more accessible.

The new format will also feature lower-priced food and beverages while maintaining a premium movie-viewing experience. By adopting a capital-efficient franchise model, PVR INOX aims to tap into the growing demand for organized entertainment in underserved markets.
The strategy marks a major shift in PVR INOX’s expansion plans, moving beyond metros to build a stronger presence in small-town India. The company expects upcoming film releases and alternative content to drive footfalls and strengthen its long-term growth.
