Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free Youth Campaign), urging citizens, educational institutions and communities to join hands in eliminating drug abuse across the country. Addressing the nation, he stressed that empowering young people to stay away from narcotics is crucial for building a healthier, stronger and more developed India.
The Prime Minister said that a drug-free youth population is the foundation of ‘Viksit Bharat’, highlighting that substance abuse not only affects individuals and families but also weakens the country’s social and economic progress. He called for greater public awareness, preventive education and community participation to tackle the growing menace of drug addiction.
The campaign aims to mobilise students, youth organisations, educational institutions and civil society to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and promote healthy lifestyles. It is part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen anti-drug initiatives through prevention, rehabilitation and coordinated enforcement across the country.
