The PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme will continue until 2030-31, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced after the Union Cabinet approved the extension.
Launched in 2019, the flagship scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmer families in three equal installments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The extension aims to ensure sustained income support for farmers while strengthening the agriculture sector.
The government said the continuation of PM-KISAN reflects its long-term commitment to farmers’ welfare, rural development and financial inclusion. Since its launch, the scheme has benefited millions of farmers across India, with funds transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, improving transparency and reducing leakages.
