Air India, SkyDrive Inc., and Suzuki Motor Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly study the feasibility of advanced medical air logistics in India. The partnership aims to evaluate how electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft can improve the transportation of critical medical supplies, including medicines, vaccines, blood samples and human organs.
The feasibility study will examine the operational, technical and regulatory requirements for deploying eVTOL aircraft in India’s healthcare ecosystem. The partners believe advanced air mobility can significantly reduce delivery times, particularly in remote and underserved regions where rapid medical transportation is often a challenge.
The collaboration marks an important step in exploring the use of sustainable aviation technology beyond passenger mobility. If successful, the initiative could pave the way for faster emergency medical logistics, improved healthcare access and the adoption of next-generation air mobility solutions across India.
