Tamil Nadu has secured a fresh wave of global investments as Chubb Group, Nordex Group, the University of Western Australia (UWA) and MotiveLink signed agreements with the state government for projects spanning Global Capability Centres (GCCs), research and development, higher education and advanced manufacturing. Together, the projects are expected to create 2,920 direct and indirect jobs.
Chubb, the Switzerland-based insurance major, and Germany’s Nordex, one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, will establish new GCCs and R&D centres in Chennai. The two projects alone are expected to create around 1,220 high-quality jobs, further strengthening Chennai’s position as a leading hub for global capability centres and innovation.
The University of Western Australia will establish its first campus in Tamil Nadu at Velachery, Chennai, with an investment of ₹125 crore, while South Korean auto-component maker MotiveLink will invest ₹300 crore in a manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Pillaipakkam in Kancheepuram district, generating around 1,500 jobs.
The investments reinforce Tamil Nadu’s strategy of becoming a global destination for GCCs, R&D, advanced manufacturing and higher education, while creating high-value employment opportunities and strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem.
