Climate activist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk has praised the Vande Bharat Express after travelling from New Delhi to Srinagar, calling the journey a proud moment for Indian Railways. He described crossing the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, as a “beautiful experience” and applauded the engineering achievement.
While appreciating the rail infrastructure, Wangchuk also urged the Central Government to honour the commitments made to students who had participated in recent protests. He said keeping those promises would strengthen young people’s trust in the government and demonstrate accountability.
Wangchuk also welcomed the proposed examination reforms, expressing hope that they would improve transparency and fairness in India’s education system. His remarks came shortly after ending his hunger strike and returning to Ladakh via the Vande Bharat Express.
