Navi Mumbai International Airport has officially launched its first international passenger service, marking a significant milestone in its growth as India’s newest aviation gateway. The inaugural overseas flight is a direct Air India Express service to Abu Dhabi, making the airline the first to operate international flights from the airport.

The Abu Dhabi service will operate three times a week, providing travellers from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with improved access to one of the busiest international destinations in the Gulf. The launch follows the airport’s successful domestic operations and signals the beginning of its international expansion.
The introduction of international services is expected to reduce congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport while improving connectivity for passengers and supporting the region’s growing aviation demand. Airport authorities also plan to expand international routes in the coming months.
Developed as a second international gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Navi Mumbai International Airport is designed to handle increasing passenger traffic and strengthen India’s aviation infrastructure. The launch of its first overseas flight marks an important step in establishing the airport as a major international travel hub.
