Deepinder Goyal is entering a new chapter beyond food delivery with the launch of Temple, a wearable wellness device designed to measure the body’s metabolic state in real time.

The former CEO of Eternal, previously known as Zomato, plans to launch the forehead-worn device within six months to a year. The bean-shaped wearable is expected to cost around $1,000 and will initially target athletes, entrepreneurs and high-performance professionals.
Goyal said Temple was developed from a personal research project focused on understanding cerebral blood flow. According to him, his team identified a new biomarker called “entropy”, which could provide insights into metabolic changes linked to stress, meditation, sleep, recovery and exercise.
The device will be launched as a wellness product supported by research studies, though the technology has not yet received medical regulatory approval or independent scientific validation.
Unlike existing smartwatches and fitness rings that estimate health conditions through indicators such as heart rate, Goyal claims Temple directly measures metabolic activity.
“I’m not building Temple for everybody. Actually, I’m building it only for myself,” Goyal said, adding that business growth would follow from solving a personal need.
Temple marks Goyal’s first major commercial venture after he stepped down as CEO of Eternal in February. His focus now extends to multiple high-risk technology projects beyond food and quick commerce.
Apart from Temple, Goyal has also invested in LAT Aerospace, an aviation startup developing small aircraft designed to connect smaller cities and bypass crowded airports. The project aims to create a network of short take-off and landing aircraft, though Goyal acknowledged the technical and regulatory challenges involved.
Goyal said his larger vision is to ensure that Eternal continues to evolve and explore new opportunities rather than remain limited to its existing businesses.
“The moment you think that you made it, you’re dead,” he said, highlighting his belief in constant reinvention.
