Reliance Jio strengthened its presence in Kerala during May 2026 by recording the highest increase in active mobile subscribers, reflecting growing customer engagement and increased network usage across the state.

According to the latest telecom subscriber data, Jio’s active subscriber base in Kerala increased from 1.01 crore VLR units (101.70 lakh) in April to 1.05 crore VLR units (105.06 lakh) in May. The company added 3.36 lakh active subscribers during the month, marking the highest incremental growth among telecom operators in the state.
Jio’s active subscriber market share also improved during the period, rising from 24.22% in April to 24.74% in May.
The telecom operator also recorded growth in its overall subscriber base in Kerala. Its total subscriber count increased from 111.16 lakh in April to 111.44 lakh in May.
The rise in VLR (Visitor Location Register) subscribers is considered an important measure of customer activity, as it indicates the number of users actively connected to a telecom network. The increase highlights Jio’s continued efforts to improve network performance and provide reliable connectivity across both urban and rural regions of Kerala.
Industry data for May 2026 showed that Kerala’s overall wireless subscriber base remained stable, while active subscriber numbers continued to rise, pointing towards increased mobile usage and stronger customer engagement across the state.
