Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport in Rajasthan, a project developed at a cost of ₹480 crore. The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to modernise aviation infrastructure and improve regional connectivity across the country.

The new terminal spans over 23,000 square metres and has been designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually. Equipped with modern passenger amenities, enhanced security systems, aerobridges and streamlined check-in facilities, the terminal aims to provide a faster, safer and more comfortable travel experience while accommodating future growth in air traffic.
During the event, the Prime Minister also launched the Modified UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) Scheme, which seeks to expand affordable regional air connectivity by introducing new routes and improving access to underserved and remote regions. The revamped programme is backed by a budget of ₹28,840 crore over the next decade and is expected to further strengthen India’s domestic aviation network.
The upgraded airport is expected to boost tourism, trade and investment in Rajasthan while supporting economic development in the region. The inauguration of the terminal, along with the launch of the Modified UDAN Scheme, reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening transport infrastructure and making air travel more accessible for millions of Indians.
