Mehli Mistry, one of the late Ratan Tata’s closest associates and a longtime Tata Group insider, has resigned from the board of RNT Associates Pvt. Ltd., the family investment office established by Ratan Tata in 2009. His resignation takes effect from July 1, 2026.

Mistry joined the RNT Associates board in 2023 and played a key role in overseeing Ratan Tata’s personal investment portfolio, which includes stakes in several Indian startups. He was also named one of the executors of Ratan Tata’s will.
In his resignation letter, Mistry cited “preoccupation with other commitments” as the reason for stepping down. The move comes months after his exit from the Tata Trusts and further distances him from entities linked to the Tata Group.
Mistry’s departure marks another significant leadership change within Ratan Tata’s legacy institutions, even as governance and succession matters continue to draw attention following the industrialist’s passing.
