and Israel are set to deepen their defence partnership through greater collaboration in advanced military technologies, joint development programmes, and weapons manufacturing within India. The renewed push follows the recent visit of Amir Baram, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defence, who held discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and senior Indian officials.

The discussions focused on technology transfer, co-development of advanced defence systems, industrial collaboration, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and the expansion of defence manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Both countries are looking to move beyond traditional buyer-seller relationships toward long-term strategic partnerships built around joint innovation and production.
Israel’s expertise in missiles, drones, electronic warfare systems, radars, sensors, and battlefield networking technologies continues to play a key role in supporting India’s military modernisation plans. Existing collaborations include the Barak missile programme, surveillance drones, air-defence systems, precision-guided weapons, and advanced reconnaissance technologies.
The partnership is also increasingly focused on manufacturing defence equipment in India. Joint ventures involving unmanned aerial systems, missile technologies, small arms, and surveillance platforms are expected to expand as both countries seek to strengthen supply chains and defence preparedness.
The latest engagement signals a broader strategic roadmap aimed at boosting indigenous defence production, accelerating technology adoption, and enhancing military readiness amid evolving regional security challenges.
