India and Thailand have agreed to deepen cooperation in manufacturing, research, innovation and capability development during the 10th Thailand–India Defence Dialogue held in Bangkok.

The meeting was co-chaired by Thailand’s Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence, Admiral Nuttapol Diewvanich, and Joint Secretary in India’s Ministry of Defence, Satyajit Mohanty. The two sides reviewed the full range of bilateral defence ties and exchanged views on regional and global security developments of mutual interest.
Focus on Indo-Pacific Security
Discussions centred on the evolving security situation in the Indo-Pacific region, with both countries sharing perspectives on recent developments. India and Thailand reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation to promote peace, stability and prosperity across the region.
Strengthening Military and Training Cooperation
Both sides reviewed ongoing military-to-military engagements, including training exchanges, capacity-building initiatives and maritime cooperation. They also explored ways to further enhance practical collaboration in areas of shared defence interest.
Engagement in Regional Frameworks
The dialogue also covered cooperation under regional and multilateral defence platforms, including ASEAN-led mechanisms. Both countries reiterated the importance of working within these frameworks to address emerging security challenges collectively.
Commitment to Deeper Strategic Partnership
India and Thailand reaffirmed their intent to strengthen practical defence cooperation through sustained dialogue and closer collaboration, aiming to respond more effectively to shared security concerns in a changing global environment.
