Xiaomi has expanded its home appliance lineup with a new electric kettle under its Mijia brand, focusing on durability, fast heating, and long heat retention.

The product, called the Mijia Constant Temperature Electric Kettle Titanium Steel Edition, has been launched in China. It comes with a 1.7-litre capacity, 1,800 W heating power, and a price of ¥139 (around $20), excluding taxes and import charges.
The kettle is designed to boil water quickly and maintain temperature for long periods, targeting everyday household use.
Key Material Upgrade
A major feature is its inner body made of 316Ti titanium-grade stainless steel, replacing the commonly used 304 steel found in many standard kettles. This material offers higher resistance to heat, corrosion, and long-term water contact, helping maintain durability and reduce taste changes in stored water.
The interior is built as a single seamless structure, which helps prevent residue buildup and makes cleaning easier. The opening is also wider to allow easier maintenance.
Heating and Temperature Control
The kettle uses 1,800 W rapid heating with circular heat distribution to boil water efficiently. It can hold up to 1.7 litres, enough for multiple cups at once.
One of its main features is a constant temperature mode that can keep water at around 55°C for up to 24 hours. This is intended for users who regularly consume warm water or tea throughout the day, reducing the need for repeated boiling.
The mode is activated via a button at the base, allowing the kettle to maintain heat without restarting the full boiling cycle repeatedly.
Safety Features
The design includes double-layer insulation to keep the outer surface safer to touch even when hot. It also has a lid with controlled steam release to reduce risk when opening.
A built-in thermostat, tested for long-term durability, provides safety functions like automatic shut-off in case of overheating and protection against dry boiling.
Product Strategy
The kettle is part of Xiaomi’s broader expansion beyond smartphones into everyday home appliances like air purifiers, fans, and smart kitchen devices. The focus here is not on smart connectivity but on practical improvements like stronger materials, safety, and heat control.
Availability
The product is currently available only in China through Xiaomi’s Youpin platform. There is no confirmed global or India launch yet, and final international pricing would likely be higher due to taxes, shipping, and import costs.
