Reliance Retail has acquired global haircare brand Anomaly, founded by actor-entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in a strategic move aimed at strengthening its position in the fast-growing beauty and personal care market.

The company said in an official statement that it has taken full ownership of Anomaly’s trademarks, brand assets, and digital properties. However, the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
With this acquisition, Reliance Retail brings the brand fully into its ecosystem, allowing it to scale through its wide offline retail presence and digital platforms. The company also plans to leverage its omnichannel beauty platform Tira to expand Anomaly’s reach and improve consumer access across markets.
Launched in 2021, Anomaly is known for its clean-label, vegan, and affordable haircare products, built around high-performance formulations designed for everyday use.
Reliance Retail Executive Director Isha Ambani said the acquisition fits into the company’s broader strategy of expanding its portfolio of modern, high-growth beauty brands. She noted that Anomaly’s global positioning and accessible pricing make it a strong addition to its existing beauty ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will continue to be associated with the brand as Creative Director, guiding product development and overall brand direction. She described the acquisition as an important milestone, saying the brand’s journey from a personal vision to a global business now enters a new phase with Reliance’s support.
She also highlighted that Reliance’s scale and distribution strength would help accelerate Anomaly’s growth across India and international markets, including North America, the UK, and the Middle East.
Reliance Retail added that India will be a key focus area going forward, with plans to develop products tailored specifically for local hair and scalp needs. The deal further strengthens its expanding portfolio of premium and digitally driven beauty and personal care brands.
