The Uttar Pradesh government is set to develop the upcoming Ganga Expressway, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 29, as an expressway-cum-industrial corridor, according to an official statement.

The project is being designed as an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC), linking infrastructure development with industrial expansion to drive economic growth along the 594-km route.

Under the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), 12 industrial nodes are being developed across the expressway, covering around 6,507 acres of land. So far, the project has attracted 987 investment proposals worth nearly ₹47,000 crore.

These industrial nodes will be located across 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.

Each node has been strategically planned based on regional strengths and location advantages, focusing on manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics development.

Officials said the expressway is being positioned as a major economic growth corridor, with strong investor interest already emerging through nearly a thousand expressions of interest.

The corridor is expected to directly connect 12 districts and help reduce regional imbalances by driving industrial growth in areas such as Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, and Pratapgarh, which are likely to see increased employment opportunities and economic activity.
