In an interview with Channeliam, A.N. Shamseer, Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, discussed the state’s approach to integrating artificial intelligence into critical sectors like healthcare and education.

Malabar Cancer Centre as a Hub for AI Innovation

Shamseer highlighted the Malabar Cancer Centre in Thalassery, noting that the facility is already employing some of the most advanced AI technologies in the country. He shared insights from discussions with officials and experts at the AI Conclave, emphasizing that the centre is poised to become a leader in AI-driven healthcare solutions.

AI’s Strategic Role in Healthcare

According to Shamseer, AI is indispensable for modern healthcare. He stressed that the technology will play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency, making its adoption not just beneficial but essential for the sector.

Looking Ahead

Shamseer expressed optimism that the Malabar Cancer Centre will spearhead AI initiatives across Kerala’s healthcare system, demonstrating how targeted innovation can set benchmarks for broader applications. He also noted the potential for AI to expand into education, reflecting a long-term vision for technology-driven development in the state.
