Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has bought a $23 million mansion in the Woodland Normanstone area of Washington DC. The sale ranks among the top three most expensive residential deals in the city’s history.

Meta Confirms the Deal
Meta confirmed the purchase, stating that Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan acquired the home to allow him to spend more time in DC for tech policy work.
Privacy Around the Purchase
The buyer’s identity was initially kept secret due to non-disclosure agreements. After the sale closed, images of the 15,000-square-foot mansion were blurred on Google Maps, and the home saw increased activity shortly after Zuckerberg’s private jet landed nearby.

Strategic DC Presence
The acquisition reflects Zuckerberg’s growing involvement in tech policy discussions in Washington. He already owns homes in Palo Alto, Lake Tahoe, and Hawaii.
Purpose of the Property
Meta says the DC home will offer safety and convenience for Zuckerberg during frequent visits related to regulatory and policy matters
