Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, assured full central support for Kerala’s investment initiatives. Speaking at the Invest Kerala Global Summit in Kochi, he highlighted the state’s remarkable progress in tourism. Kerala holds a unique place on the global tourism map, attracting visitors from around the world.

Kerala’s Strength in Entrepreneurship and Infrastructure
Goyal praised Kerala’s entrepreneurial spirit, stating that business acumen is deeply ingrained in every Malayali. He acknowledged the state’s excellence in industrial growth, infrastructure development, and road expansion. Large-scale projects like Vizhinjam are not just state-level advancements but contribute significantly to national progress. Kerala is successfully balancing development while preserving its rich heritage.
India’s Economic Growth and Kerala’s Role
Goyal emphasized that the growth of states drives national development. India currently contributes 16% to global economic growth and has emerged as the world’s fifth-largest economy from its previous 11th position. By 2027, India is projected to become the third-largest economic power, and Kerala has a crucial role in this transformation. With central support, Kerala will establish an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster and a Smart Industrial Township, with investments worth ₹3,800 crore.
Support for Kerala’s Silver Line Project
Piyush Goyal also praised Kerala’s ambitious Silver Line project. He noted that the semi-high-speed railway from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram will significantly reduce travel time. This marks the first time a Union Minister has publicly supported the project.
