Tesla is reportedly preparing to launch a six-seater version of the Tesla Model Y in India, expanding its product lineup in the fast-growing premium EV segment.

The new variant is expected to be based on the long-wheelbase Model Y, offering a three-row, 2+2+2 seating layout designed for families and long-distance travel.
Compared to the standard Model Y currently sold in India, the upcoming version is likely to feature more cabin space, improved legroom, and enhanced comfort, especially for second- and third-row passengers.
Globally, Tesla has already showcased this extended Model Y variant, which includes captain seats in the second row and easier access to the third row, making it more practical for larger families.
The move signals Tesla’s intent to strengthen its presence in India’s premium EV market, where demand for spacious SUVs is rising despite high import duties and pricing challenges.
If launched, the six-seater Model Y could compete with high-end electric SUVs and attract buyers looking for luxury, space, and advanced technology in a single package.
