Akash Jadhav’s chance encounter during a flight to Bengaluru last year ignited the spark for what would become GoPool, a revolutionary carpooling platform that transforms mundane airport rides into collaborative and cost-effective journeys.

The genesis of GoPool stemmed from a simple idea: to alleviate the burden of hefty cab expenses incurred during airport commutes by facilitating ride-sharing among travelers heading in the same direction. This vision crystallized into reality with the launch of GoPool in February 2023, marking Jadhav’s bold entry into the realm of entrepreneurship.

Today, GoPool stands as a testament to Jadhav’s perseverance and ingenuity, with operations spanning across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Goa, and Pune. With approximately 25,000 users and a growing user base, GoPool has garnered significant traction, reflecting the inherent appeal of its innovative carpooling concept.

Despite initial skepticism and numerous failed ventures, Jadhav remained undeterred, drawing upon his 13 years of experience in the software industry and his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from MIT, Pune, to propel GoPool forward. His unwavering commitment to his vision led him to bootstrap the company, investing his own funds to cover server bills, OTP services, business registrations, and marketing expenses.

As GoPool continues to gain momentum, Jadhav envisions expanding its footprint both nationally and globally, with plans to invest further in the venture and explore potential partnerships with established cab vendors. While the company is currently in the pre-revenue stage, Jadhav remains optimistic about its future prospects, emphasizing the importance of establishing a strong presence in the market before implementing a viable business model.

GoPool’s unique offering lies in its co-traveller discovery service tailored specifically for airport trips. By leveraging the network of yellow-board vehicles, GoPool enables users to find fellow travellers and split the total journey cost among themselves, offering a compelling alternative to traditional cab services. With features like scheduling journeys in advance and adding multiple stops on the same ride, GoPool empowers users with flexibility and convenience.

Navigating the regulatory landscape poses a significant challenge for GoPool, particularly in Karnataka, where regulations governing carpooling are constantly evolving. However, the company has navigated these challenges adeptly, operating within the confines of the law while pioneering a model that harnesses the network of yellow-board taxis for shared airport commutes.
