South Korea has expressed interest in bringing Korean businesses to Kerala and investing in the healthcare, food processing, electronics, renewable energy, infrastructure, and tourist sectors. A high-level team from South Korea, led by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, visited Kochi where they met the state’s industries minister, P Rajeev, and the head of the KSIDC, Paul Antony.

The delegation is made up of the leaders of South Korea’s premier business and trade associations. The purpose of the trip is to look into potential investment and partnership opportunities across several industries. The delegation also met with important officials and trade and industry representatives.

The Kerala government and Korea’s economy were also brought up during the conversation between the two parties. The Korean team believed that Kerala’s electronics, mobile technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries provide enormous investment opportunities for Korean businesses.

They also concurred that there may be chances for Korean businesses to work with Kerala in a number of sectors, including renewable energy, power, agro- and food processing, and tourism.
