Google is preparing a legal challenge to block a decision by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to alter how it approaches its Android operating system. Google is worried that the decision will limit how it promotes the platform.
Since last week, the Alphabet division has been fined $275 million (Rs 2,265 crore) in two CCI decisions: one for its in-app commission policy and the other for abusing its position in the Android operating system market (OS).
Despite the CCI-Android ruling’s smaller $162 million (Rs 1,334 crore) fine, Google is concerned because it wants more extensive corrective action.
