IAF formally inducted the indigenously-developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH)
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) developed the LCH
It is primarily designed for high-altitude regions
The 5.8-tonne twine-engine helicopter has some stealth features
They include reduced visual, aural, radar and IR signatures
The LCH has night attack capability and crash-worthy landing gear
It is equipped with manoeuvrability and extended range
It is ideal for combat search and rescue (CSAR), and destruction of enemy air defence (DEAD)
It is also good for counter-insurgency (CI) operations
It can be used against slow-moving aircraft and remotely-piloted aircraft
