Adani Power Ltd to acquire DB Power in a cash transaction at an enterprise value of ₹7,017 crore.DB Power owns and operates a 2×600 megawatt (MW) thermal power plant at the Janjgir Champa district in Chhattisgarh. Adani Power will acquire 100% of the total issued, subscribed and paid up equity share capital and preference share capital of DPPL.
Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari unveiled India’s first electric double-decker air-conditioned bus in Mumbai. The electric bus is manufactured by Switch Mobility, Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle arm. It’s India’s first and unique electric double-decker air-conditioned bus – Switch EiV 22. Semi-low floor, air-conditioned, electric double-decker with wider door on rear overhang and a rear staircase. The architecture of the double decker uses a 650 V system. Switch India has already secured an order of 200 electric double decker buses in Mumbai.

Reliance Jio added 4.2 million subscribers in June, beating its closest rival Bharti Airtel by a margin of 5 to 1. Jio now has 50 million more subscribers than Airtel. According to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), struggling telco Vodafone Idea continued to lose subscribers, with a decline of 1.8 million during the month. ISRO is getting ready for Chandrayaan 3 Mission. The mission will be launched by August 2023. It is currently under development. It is undergoing critical tests to ensure design durability. Chandrayaan mission is ISRO’s attempt to land on the moon. If successful, it will pave way for interplanetary missions. Chandrayaan-2 mission in 2019 did not succeed. ISRO is also readying for Aditya L1 Mission. ISRO’s first attempt to study the solar atmosphere and corona of the sun. Aditya L1 is a 1,500 kg satellite carrying seven specific payloads. It is expected to be launched onboard a PSLV-XL rocket.
The country’s three major telecom companies have expressed interest in the Rajasthan government’s chief minister, Digital Seva Yojana, with 1.35 million women in the state expected to receive smartphones.The government plans to complete this process as soon as possible so that the program can be implemented before next year’s parliamentary elections. The total cost of the project is Rs 12,000. Rajasthan Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot unveiled his Mukhyamantri Digital Seva Yojana in this year’s budget. The program will provide Internet-connected smartphones to 1.35 million women enrolled in the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme for three years.
Zomato-backed logistics platform Shiprocket joined unicorn club after raising ₹260 crore. In a funding round co-led by Temasek and Lightrock India. Shiprocket was valued at around $1.2 billion with the fresh round of funding. It will help Shiprocket extend its operating system by building newer software and intelligence products. Along with deepening its capability on the fulfilment and same-day delivery experience. Launched in 2017, Shiprocket delivers packets to more than 66 million consumers annually.
Mahindra & Mahindra has initiated talks with various state governments in India to set up manufacturing infrastructure. It is for the upcoming range of electric sports utility vehicles. The automaker will evaluate incentives offered by different state governments before finalizing strategy for production of EVs. The company has already started discussions with a few state governments regarding the production of the new electric SUV range. M&M would prefer a state which already has a ready automotive manufacturing infrastructure. It plans to introduce the 5 electric SUVs under two brands — XUV and ‘BE’.
