Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started work on a new eight-lane bridge over Dubai Creek to improve traffic movement in the Bur Dubai area. The bridge will connect Infinity Bridge to the Port Rashid Development Area.

Project Specifications
- Total length: 1,425 meters
- Cost: Dh786 million
- Capacity: 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions
- Height: 18.5 meters above Dubai Creek
- Navigation channel: 75 meters wide
- Features: Dedicated pedestrian and cycling paths with elevators
Part of Al Shindagha Corridor Development
The bridge is a key part of the Al Shindagha Corridor project, which aims to improve connectivity across major Dubai developments like:
- Dubai Islands
- Port Rashid
- Dubai Maritime City
The overall corridor project spans 13 km and includes 15 intersections. It is being built in five phases and is expected to benefit around one million people. Travel time in the corridor is projected to drop from 104 minutes to 16 minutes, saving nearly Dh45 billion over 20 years.
Additional Road Infrastructure
Along with the bridge, 2,000 meters of surface roads will be constructed to connect Bur Dubai and Dubai Islands.
Expansion of Access Points under RTA-Dubai Holding Agreement

The RTA and Dubai Holding are working together on a Dh6 billion agreement to build infrastructure for several communities. Key highlights include:
- Four new access points and flyovers for Jumeirah Village Circle
- New bridges connecting Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Dubai Production City
- Road enhancements in Business Bay, including pedestrian bridge construction
- Improvements in Palm Jumeirah: new traffic lanes, two pedestrian bridges
- Upgrades in Dubai International City (Phase 3): wider roads, new lane, and improved intersections
Goal of the Project
The joint initiative aims to improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, enhance safety, and support Dubai’s growing urban developments.
