Hukkeri’s name surfaced in a high-profile gold smuggling investigation after his wife, Kannada actress Ranya Rao, was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport with ₹12.56 crore worth of gold bars. Authorities later raided their residence, seizing gold jewelry worth ₹2.06 crore and ₹2.67 crore in cash, bringing the total seizure to ₹17.29 crore.
Frequent Dubai Travels Under Investigation
Police suspect Hukkeri’s involvement after discovering that he and Rao had taken multiple trips to Dubai. Rao’s four visits within 15 days raised suspicion, with reports indicating she had traveled there nearly 30 times. Investigators are now probing whether Hukkeri played a role in the smuggling operation.
