Naaji Noushi, a mother of five from Kerala, is on an extraordinary solo road trip across six countries. This brave social media influencer, traveling in her Mahindra Thar, is fulfilling her dream of exploring diverse cultures and traditions. Over the last six months, Naaji has defied the odds and embarked on this thrilling journey, embracing her love for travel.
Exploring New Cultures and Traditions
Now in Kuwait, Naaji’s journey will continue through Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. She hopes to connect with people and explore the unique cultures and traditions of these countries. “I need to meet people, get to know different cultures, and the fascinating traditions of Kuwait,” she shared with Kuwait Times.
Equipped for the Journey
To ensure a smooth and self-sufficient trip, Naaji has turned her vehicle into a mobile kitchen, complete with a stove, gas cylinder, rice, water, and flour. “Usually, my friends serve me food wherever I visit. But, if I want, I can cook my food or make a cup of tea for myself or for my visitors,” she explained. She even once cooked biryani for tourists in Mumbai.
How it All Began
Naaji’s passion for travel began in 2020 when she was a homemaker in Thalassery, Kerala. She first traveled across Kerala, realizing that driving fascinated her. Her journey soon expanded to cover the entire country. She drove across all states and union territories, including borders with Pakistan, China, and Myanmar. As part of her pan-India journey, she also visited 10 islands of Lakshadweep in 30 days.
A Global Journey Begins
On September 10, 2024, Naaji’s journey beyond India began. She drove from the UAE to Oman, then Saudi Arabia, where she traveled for three months. After Kuwait, she plans to continue her adventure to Iraq, Afghanistan, and China, ultimately covering 15 countries before returning to India.
Viral Moment: FIFA World Cup in Qatar
Naaji went viral on social media when she drove to Qatar to watch the FIFA World Cup. “I wondered why an Indian woman cannot go there and watch the FIFA World Cup. It was a dream come true for me to watch my favorite team, Argentina, play,” she said.
A Transformative Journey
Naaji’s story gained significant attention on social media, where she built a large following on her YouTube channel. She believes travel, especially solo journeys, offers life-changing lessons. “Travel will teach you many things, especially if it is a solo journey. It will calm your mind, make you self-sufficient, and prepare you to face challenges. A long journey all alone by road will transform you,” Naaji concluded.
