Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), a key entity of Gautam Adani’s business empire, has won a massive Rs 25,000 crore project. Known as the Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC project, this is the largest transmission order ever secured by the Adani Group. The company, with a market capitalization of Rs 96,112 crore, revealed that its order book now totals Rs 54,761 crore.
Renewable Energy Boost
The project aims to transmit 6 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan to northern demand hubs. It includes setting up a 6,000 MW HVDC system spanning 2,400 ckm and 7,500 MVA transmission capacity. AESL plans to complete the project within 4.5 years, further strengthening its transmission network.
Industry Leadership
AESL is the only private company owning an HVDC asset, a preferred method for long-distance power transmission. This new project follows AESL’s successful Mundra-Mahendragarh Project and the ongoing Aarey-Kudus Project.
Competitive Bid Win
The project was awarded under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism, with REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd as the bid coordinator. The project SPV was officially transferred to AESL on January 20, 2025.
This achievement reinforces Gautam Adani’s position as a leader in renewable energy and power infrastructure.
