Nelson Dilipkumar’s collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay in the 2022 film Beast faced underwhelming performance and mixed reviews. However, Nelson made a significant comeback in 2023 with the blockbuster Jailer, starring the legendary Rajinikanth. The film became a massive hit and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year.
Rumoured Fee for ‘Jailer 2’
Reports suggest that Nelson Dilipkumar may return to direct the sequel, Jailer 2, with a rumoured fee of Rs 60 crore. While this amount has yet to be officially confirmed, it indicates a notable increase in his remuneration following the success of Jailer.
Exciting New Plot Elements
For the sequel, Nelson is said to be working on a comic subplot featuring Yogi Babu alongside Rajinikanth. There are also expectations for the return of notable stars like Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, with potential expansions of their roles. Additionally, there is speculation about a prominent Bollywood actor joining the cast, adding further excitement to the project.
Current Projects and Cast
The original Jailer boasted an impressive ensemble cast, including Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, and Yogi Babu. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently preparing for the release of Vettaiyan in October and is filming Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
