Buddh International Circuit Prepares for Historic MotoGP Race
The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida, India, has received approval from the international motorsports body for two-wheelers, FIM, to host the country’s first-ever MotoGP race, known as the Grand Prix of India, scheduled for September 24.
Revving Up the Excitement
The upcoming event at BIC is set to be a historic moment for Indian motorsports. After successfully hosting three Formula 1 races between 2011 and 2013, the circuit is gearing up for its next big spectacle, the MotoGP Grand Prix of India.
Safety First at BIC
In preparation for the event, all the safety vehicles have already arrived at the Buddh International Circuit. Among them are three safety cars, including a BMW M5CS, which will be present during the races. The additional safety cars, a BMW M2 (G87) and BMW M3 touring, will join the lineup on the day of the race.
Thorough Preparations
Rohit Sharma, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of FairStreet Sports, the organizers of MotoGP Bharat, has assured that all necessary preparations have been meticulously completed. This includes homologation, resurfacing, crash zones, grid zones, and gravel placements, ensuring a safe and smooth event.
A Dedicated Team
To ensure the event’s success, about 3,000 race management crew members will be working diligently. Their collective efforts aim to provide attendees with an unforgettable experience.
Investment and Support
Sharma also mentioned that over ₹120 crore (approximately $16 million USD) has been invested in the event, with a substantial contribution from the government. Ticket sales have been brisk, with ₹800 slots already sold out. Tickets priced at ₹2,500 and corporate boxes at ₹1.8 lakh have also garnered significant interest, while ₹5,000 and ₹20,000 tickets are expected to sell out in the final days leading up to the event.

MotoGP Bharat promises to feature some of the most prominent names in the world of motorcycle racing. Renowned riders such as Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Marco Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Jack Miller, Jorge Martin, and more are set to participate in the event, thrilling fans with their skills and daring maneuvers.

Event Schedule
MotoGP Bharat is set to kick off with practice sessions on September 22, 2023, at the Buddh International Circuit from 4 pm to 5:10 pm (IST). The excitement continues on September 23 with the 1st qualifying round from 11:20 am to 11:35 am and the 2nd qualifying round from 11:45 am to 12 pm. Finally, the highly anticipated race day, on September 24, will see the race action commence at 3:30 pm.
