SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, was inaugurated by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Developed through a partnership between Miral and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, this theme park is dedicated to providing entertainment and educational experiences focused on marine life, solidifying Abu Dhabi’s status as a premier tourism destination.
During his visit, Sheikh Khaled had the chance to explore the park’s expansive facilities, spanning an impressive 183,000 square metres, and gain insights into its various attractions. Additionally, he paid a visit to the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue, the MENA region’s first integrated centre for research, rescue, rehabilitation, and education. This facility is dedicated to conserving the marine wildlife and habitats of the Arabian Gulf while inspiring the next generation of marine enthusiasts.
Accompanied by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Miral, as well as Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, Sheikh Khaled had the opportunity to witness the park’s diverse range of family-friendly experiences, including animal encounters, presentations, rides, and dining and shopping options.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak emphasised the significance of SeaWorld Yas Island, highlighting its role in elevating Abu Dhabi’s global destination status and its contribution to promoting environmental awareness and marine life protection. He expressed pride in the collaboration with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, underscoring their shared commitment to animal welfare and the creation of an exceptional knowledge hub.
Scott Ross, Chairman of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, celebrated the opening of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi as a significant milestone, being the first SeaWorld park located outside of the United States. He commended the collaboration with Miral, which brought together their expertise to create a state-of-the-art Marine Life Theme Park, offering an unparalleled experience. Ross expressed confidence in the park’s ability to inspire visitors’ dedication to marine conservation.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi has achieved certification from Global Humane, making it the first facility in the MENA region to receive this recognition for its commitment to animal welfare. On May 23, the park will open its doors to the public, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the captivating beauty of the ocean while fostering a sense of responsibility for marine conservation.
